Career Paths: Are we right for you?

Air Liquide offers many career opportunities for current students and college graduates:

Engineering (mechanical, chemical, electrical & industrial):
Your career at Air Liquide might begin with an operations assignment at a United States field location. Two to three years from now, you could be developing new applications, maintaining a plant or managing engineering projects. Non-degreed production technicians and installation or support technicians may work in one of more than 200 U.S. locations.

Project Engineering– Assist experienced project engineers and/or managers in the execution of small (<$2M), medium ($2M - $10M), or large (>$10M) projects. In this role, you'll Interact with vendors and customers, troubleshoot installations of new equipment, estimate project costs and oversee maintenance and operational personnel. You'll become familiar with Air Liquide project management methodologies and reporting tools.

Field Engineering– Provide engineering support to zone engineering teams responsible for the execution of efficiency and continuous improvement projects at various plant locations within a defined geographical area. Support zone reliability centers in the execution of major plant maintenance and installation of new equipment. You will become familiar with one or more specific plant technologies (based on location) and existing operational efficiency models.

Plant Process Engineering– Provide engineering support to the daily management and efficient operation of an Air Liquide production facility. As an intern or an ALLEX program participant, you'll assist plant management and/or engineering teams in the execution of large maintenance activities and/or plant process improvements. Students will become familiar with a specific production technology/process based on the location as well as a general introduction to the plant working environment.


Supply Chain Management:
Provide technical support to procurement activities including vendor relationships, materials purchasing and contract negotiations. Assist logistics managers in the definition and/or implementation of best practices with regards to production and distribution schedules. Work closely with subject matter experts to execute supply chain specific initiatives across a broad geographic area. If you pursue a career in supply chain management, you'll become familiar with supply chain and logistics methodologies in an operational environment that is fast-paced and time critical. 


Accounting & Finance:
As a business analyst, you will play an integral role in the continuous improvement of business processes and data collection systems. You'll provide analysis for the interpretation of business data and creation of concise, objective reports to be shared with senior management. You'll also gain the ability to work well with multiple levels and functions in the organization with confidence, manage multiple tasks and priorities, and develop presentation skills. 


Human Resources:
As a human resources professional, you'll interact with business leaders at all levels of the organization in order to implement human resource best practices. Our interns and ALLEX program participants will become familiar with particular human resource specialties (HR Information Systems, Compensation, Benefits, Employee and Labor Relations, Learning and Development, or Talent Acquisition) while developing networking skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Interns will shadow and assist our experienced human resources professionals in their daily activities and on special project execution.
